Climate and Vegetation
The climate in this region can be very hot, yet it can also get very cold during the winter. Also, the climate and vegetation region can sometimes only receive 15-30 inches of rain per year. The vegetation in this region is good for farming in some areas. The region is also mainly grassland and plateaus, and is best for ranching and raising animals.
Sub-regions and CitiesThe Sub-regions in the Great Plains are Llano Estacado, Edwards Plateau, Toyah Basin, and Llano Basin. The cities are Amarillo, Lubbock, Midland, and Odessa.
